Letter From Baub and the EditorsGreetings Boneyard, As the first issue of Baubles From Bones comes to a close, it’s hard not to look back at the humble and doe-eyed beginnings of this whacky little zine. From the coffee shop conceptualization meeting, to the exhausting post-work sessions during the holiday season, to reading the hundreds of fantastic stories and poems submitted to us, this zine has gone from being a harebrained idea between a few friends to a real publication led by a team of co-editors and a social media magician, filling the gaps as we go along. And now here you are, holding our first issue. Hold it tightly. The authors in this issue perfectly encapsulate what we envisioned this zine would be during our initial meetings. They provided a slew of queer, inclusive, thought provoking, and tear jerking stories that we hold near and dear to our hearts. The dancing priestess and queen bring just as much comfort to us as the lonesome alien, feasting beasts, and all the rest. We hope that these stories make as much of an impact on you as they did to us. From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to say thank you to our friends and family who have given us nothing but love and support as we embarked upon this wonderful adventure. A very special thanks goes to Jessica Thrower and Greg Clumpner from Parsec for all of the advice and wisdom they generously gave to this fledgling publication. Look forward to the release of their anthology, Triangulation: Hospitium, coming later this summer! Thank you to the authors, whose passion, creativity, and trust make this zine possible. Finally, thank you to the readers for taking a chance on this group of sleep deprived goofs, working out of the living room of our apartment. Your support means everything to us. We can't wait to show you what else we have in store. From our cozy graveyard to yours, -Shane, Elyse, and Joel |

The Baubles From Bones Team
Baubles From Bones is a Pittsburgh-based zine made up of four human beings and their skeletal pal Baub. Together they have backgrounds in writing, literature, audio engineering, forensic science, and eternal damnation. In their precious free time, they can often be found haunting local parks, slurping ramen, and shopping for more books than they can possibly read. You can learn more about them on the About page.
