The Haunted SpaceshipJon Hansen
We found it Way out past Neptune A giant metal thing Scarred by who-knows-what A single giant door Hung open and inside I thought I saw Something Shift It reminded me Of the Simmons' place Off Vanderbilt Road Its cracked windows Covering a dark stillness I wasn't alone In thinking this The three of us argued about it Claiming to be scientific And rational But really we were just Playing chicken In the end we settled on Sending a robot probe Just like we sent Jake Brodek's little brother Tommy To go on the porch Push open the door And go inside Just a couple steps We told him We waited and waited But the probe never came back Just like Tommy |
